Boeing 737 MAX 8, operated by China Southern Airlines as B-205P. The aircraft joined China Southern's new-generation narrowbody fleet for domestic and regional international services. Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the 737 MAX 8 offers improved fuel efficiency, range, and lower emissions compared with earlier 737 variants. B-205P remains active in 2026 and has recently operated services linking Urumqi with cities including Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Jinan, and Hotan, as well as international service to Tashkent. The aircraft forms part of China Southern's growing fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The Boeing 737 MAX is an American narrow-body aircraft series being developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The first flight was on January 29, 2016. The 737 MAX is based on earlier 737 designs but re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B along with aerodynamic improvements, most notably split-tip winglets, and airframe modifications.
