The Bloch MB.210 served with the Armee de l'Air as the French bomber force's first modern, all-metal monoplane bomber with retractable landing gear, developed from the MB.200 and first flown as a prototype on November 23, 1934. Powered by two Gnome-Rhone 14 radial engines and defended by three 7.5mm machine guns, it carried up to 1,400 kg of bombs. Of 277 built, 253 went to France and 24 to Romania, with French deliveries completed by August 1938. At the outbreak of war in 1939 it equipped twelve bomber units, but it was already outdated and was soon relegated largely to night operations.
