Developed as a four-bladed utility helicopter, this modification of the Bell 212 helicopter was first flown in August 1979. Variants include a High Performance version, featuring a larger fuel capacity, higher takeoff weight, and improved transmission and the more modern Enhanced Performance variant, which has a dual digital automatic flight control system. Today this aircraft serves as a workhorse for both military and civilian operations 50+ nations.
