The Star 266 was the workhorse of the Polish Army for decades. Built by the FSC Star factory in Starachowice, this rugged 6x6 off-road truck entered serial production in 1973. It was powered by a Star diesel engine of roughly 150 hp and could carry about 3.5 tonnes across rough terrain. The Star 266 served as a cargo and troop carrier, artillery tractor, and the base for many specialized variants, including workshop, communications, and fuel-carrying versions. Modernized models, such as the Star 266M2, kept the design in service into the 21st century. It remains one of Poland's most iconic military vehicles.
