The Lancia Lince was an Italian WWII scout car copied from the British Daimler Dingo, which Italian forces captured in North Africa. Lancia developed it in 1942–43, and about 250 were built at Bolzano, mostly after the 1943 armistice under German control. As a result, most went to the Wehrmacht and the Italian Social Republic, which used them for reconnaissance and anti-partisan duties in northern Italy and the Balkans. The two-man, roughly 3-tonne 4x4 had a rear Lancia Astura V8, a top speed of about 85 km/h, up to 14 mm of armor and a Breda 8 mm machine gun. Survivors served postwar into the early 1950s.
