The Lancia Lince was an Italian WWII scout car copied from the British Daimler Dingo, which Italian forces captured in North Africa. Lancia developed it in 1942 - 43, and about 250 were built at Bolzano, mostly after the 1943 armistice under German control. As a result, most went to the Wehrmacht and the Italian Social Republic, which used them for reconnaissance and anti-partisan duties in northern Italy and the Balkans. The two-man, roughly 3-tonne 4x4 had a rear Lancia Astura V8, a top speed of about 85 km/h, up to 14 mm of armor and a Breda 8 mm machine gun. Survivors served postwar into the early 1950s.
