Lockheed L-1049H Super Constellation, registered N1010C, serial number 4808, flew for Seaboard and Western Airlines, a supplemental cargo and passenger carrier that operated several L-1049 variants during the 1950s before evolving into Seaboard World Airlines. Seaboard World was later acquired by Flying Tiger Line, which itself was subsequently absorbed by Federal Express in 1989, tracing a direct corporate lineage from this early Super Constellation freighter operation to the modern global logistics giant. As part of this historic fleet, N1010C supported Seaboard's transatlantic cargo operations during the golden age of piston-powered air freight.
Designed as a stretched version of the successful Constellation design, the Super Constellation was first flown on October 13th, 1950. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
