Fokker F27 Friendship, registered HL5211, flew for Korean Air as part of the South Korean carrier's fleet of turboprop aircraft supporting domestic Korean routes during the airline's early decades. Korean Air, established in 1962 and later privatized in 1969, built its early domestic network using aircraft like the F27 to connect Seoul to regional Korean cities before the carrier's expansion into a major international airline. As part of this historic fleet, HL5211 supported Korean Air's foundational domestic operations during a formative period for South Korean commercial aviation.
Designed as a pressurized, turboprop medium-range airliner, the F27 was first flown on November 24th, 1955. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
