Boeing 720-051B, registered SX-DBH, flew for Olympic Airways as part of the Greek flag carrier's fleet of 720Bs supporting Mediterranean and European routes from Athens during the 1960s and 1970s. Olympic Airways, founded by shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis in 1957, built its early jet fleet around the 720B to connect Greece to major European destinations and support the country's growing tourism industry. As part of this historic fleet, SX-DBH supported Olympic's role as Greece's national carrier during the airline's formative decades under Onassis's ownership before Greek government nationalization in the late 1970s.
Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
