Fokker F27 Friendship, registered VH-TFA, flew for Trans Australia Airlines (TAA) as part of the carrier's fleet of turboprop aircraft supporting domestic Australian routes connecting smaller regional centers to major cities. TAA, one of Australia's two major domestic carriers alongside Ansett for much of the 20th century, was an early and significant international customer for the F27, using the type extensively across its regional network. As part of this historic fleet, VH-TFA supported TAA's role in Australian domestic aviation before the airline's eventual 1986 rebrand to Australian Airlines and subsequent 1992 merger into Qantas.
Designed as a pressurized, turboprop medium-range airliner, the F27 was first flown on November 24th, 1955. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
