Fairchild Hiller FH-227, registered AP-ATQ, flew for TAT (Touraine Air Transport), a French regional carrier, as part of the airline's fleet of turboprop aircraft supporting regional French routes. TAT built a substantial regional network across France using the FH-227 and other turboprop types before the airline's eventual acquisition by British Airways in the 1990s and subsequent integration into the broader European regional aviation landscape. As part of this fleet, the aircraft, despite carrying a Pakistani-style registration prefix in this record, reflected the common practice of aircraft passing between operators and registries over their service lives.
