The BAC One-Eleven was a British short-haul jet airliner used in small numbers by the Royal Air Force (RAF) for VIP and communications duties, adapted from the commercial airliner design for military passenger transport requirements. The RAF's use of the One-Eleven reflected the broader pattern of air forces adopting commercial airliner platforms for support roles requiring reliable, efficient medium-range transport rather than dedicated military designs. As part of the RAF's support aircraft inventory, the One-Eleven supported British military and government VIP transport needs during its service period with the Royal Air Force.
