Douglas DC-8-51   4.5"   4.25"

McDonnell Douglas DC-8-51, registered N774C and named "Mary M," flew for National Airlines as part of the carrier's fleet of early DC-8s, continuing National's tradition of naming its aircraft after women, alongside sister aircraft "Carolyn," "Marilyn," and "Betty S." National Airlines, headquartered in Miami, built a distinctive "Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast" network linking Florida and Gulf Coast cities to the East and West Coasts of the United States. As part of this historic fleet, N774C supported National's growing domestic jet network during the 1960s before the airline's eventual 1980 merger into Pan American World Airways.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Douglas DC-8-51

Designed to compete with the Boeing 707, the DC-8 was first flown on May 30th, 1958.
