Boeing 720-058B, registered 4X-ABB, flew for El Al Israel Airlines and was the aircraft targeted in a serious terrorist attack on February 18, 1969, when four armed militants from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine opened fire on the plane as it prepared for takeoff at Zurich Airport during a stopover on a flight from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv. An undercover Israeli security guard aboard the aircraft returned fire, killing the attack's leader; the co-pilot later died from his wounds, and the aircraft sustained serious damage. The remaining three attackers were arrested and tried by Swiss authorities.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
