Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation flew for Irish International Airlines (the international marketing brand of Aer Lingus) as part of the carrier's early long-haul piston fleet supporting transatlantic routes connecting Ireland to North America during the 1950s. Aer Lingus used the Super Constellation to pioneer scheduled transatlantic service from Shannon and Dublin, an important milestone for Irish aviation given Ireland's position as a natural stepping stone between Europe and North America. As part of this historic fleet, the aircraft supported Aer Lingus's ambitious transatlantic ambitions during the golden age of piston-powered long-haul travel.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
