Convair CV-440 Metropolitan, registered N9315, flew for Eastern Air Lines as part of the carrier's fleet of piston-engine regional aircraft supporting domestic U.S. routes during the 1950s and 1960s. Eastern Air Lines, once one of the largest airlines in the United States, operated a substantial CV-440 fleet to connect smaller American cities to its broader network before the airline transitioned to jet aircraft. As part of this historic fleet, N9315 supported Eastern's regional route network during the piston era before the airline's eventual 1991 bankruptcy and closure.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Convair CV-440 Metropolitan

Designed as a replacement for the DC-3, the Convair 240 was first flown on July 8th, 1946. The design spawned a series of larger variants, affectionately known as the "Convairliners".
