The BAC One-Eleven was a British short-haul jet airliner operated by Cymru Airways, a Welsh carrier name likely associated with a successor or rebrand of earlier Welsh regional aviation operations such as Cambrian Airways, given "Cymru" is the Welsh word for Wales. British regional carriers of this era commonly operated the One-Eleven to connect Wales and other UK regions to London and nearby European destinations before broader industry consolidation folded most independent British regional airlines into British Airways following the 1974 national carrier merger.
