Airbus A310-222, registered B-2305, flew for CAAC, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, as part of the Chinese state aviation authority's early fleet of Western-built widebody aircraft supporting international routes before CAAC's 1987-88 breakup into separate regional carriers including Air China, China Eastern, and China Southern. CAAC's acquisition of the A310 represented an important early step in China's aviation modernization, introducing Western widebody technology to the country's international network. As part of this historic fleet, B-2305 supported CAAC's role as China's sole state carrier before the industry's decentralization.
