Boeing 727-291, registered N1PC, flew for Frontier Airlines (the original 1950-1986 carrier, not the modern low-cost airline of the same name) as part of the Denver-based regional carrier's fleet of 727 trijets supporting domestic routes across the western United States. Original Frontier Airlines built an extensive network connecting smaller western cities to larger hubs before the airline's 1986 merger into what eventually became part of Continental Airlines during the wave of consolidation following U.S. airline deregulation.
