Boeing 767-200ER N601UA was delivered tp United Airlines in March 1983 as one of the carrier's earliest 767s. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines, it served throughout the 1980s and 1990s on transcontinental and high-density domestic routes. The aircraft gained attention in 1993 when its first officer experienced a seizure in flight, though the crew landed safely without damage. As newer 767 variants joined the fleet, N601UA shifted to secondary routes before being withdrawn from service in 2003. It was stored at Victorville and later scrapped, ending the career of one of United's pioneering widebody twins.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747. © Copyright 2003-2025 The Flying Mule, Inc.
