Boeing 720-025, registered VP-YNL, flew for Air Zimbabwe (or its predecessor Air Rhodesia, given the VP-Y colonial-era registration prefix) as part of the carrier's fleet of 720s supporting regional African routes and international connections during a period of significant political transition in the country. As part of this historic fleet, VP-YNL supported the airline's operations connecting the country to regional and international destinations during the era spanning Rhodesia's transition to independent Zimbabwe in 1980, reflecting the broader political changes affecting Southern African aviation during this period.

The aicraft was designed from the start as a commercial airliner and military transport/refuelling platform and various models rolled off the production lines for 25 years. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
