McDonnell Douglas DC-8-55, registered F-BOLI, flew for UTA (Union de Transports Aeriens), the French independent carrier that operated long-haul routes connecting France to its former colonial territories across Africa, the Pacific, and Asia. UTA built a substantial DC-8 fleet to serve these distant former French territories before the airline's 1992 merger with rival French carrier Air France. As part of this historic fleet, F-BOLI supported UTA's role connecting Paris to destinations across Francophone Africa and the South Pacific during the carrier's independent decades.
Designed to compete with the Boeing 707, the DC-8 was first flown on May 30th, 1958. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
