Boeing 720-040B, registered AP-ATQ, serial number 18745, was delivered new to Pakistan International Airlines on April 28, 1965, supporting the carrier's regional and medium-haul international routes from Karachi. As part of PIA's fleet of 720s complementing its longer-range 707s, AP-ATQ served the airline for two decades before being stored at Karachi in November 1985 and scrapped in April 1986. As part of this historic fleet, the aircraft supported PIA's role as one of Asia's pioneering flag carriers during the early jet age.

Boeing 720

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954. The aicraft was designed from the start as a commercial airliner and military transport/refuelling platform and various models rolled off the production lines for 25 years.
