McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, registered OO-SLB, flew for Sabena, the Belgian flag carrier, as part of the airline's fleet of DC-10 trijets supporting long-haul international routes connecting Brussels to Africa and other distant destinations before Sabena's dramatic November 2001 bankruptcy and collapse. Sabena built a substantial long-haul network reflecting Belgium's colonial history in the Congo, using the DC-10 as a core widebody type for these routes. As part of this historic fleet, OO-SLB supported Sabena's international long-haul operations during the carrier's decades of independent service before its closure led to the creation of successor airline Brussels Airlines.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed to meet an American Airlines requirement for a wide-bodied transport, the DC-10 was first flown on August 29th, 1970. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
