Douglas DC-6, registered OH-DCA, flew for Finlantic, a smaller Finnish charter or cargo operator utilizing the piston-engine DC-6 during the aircraft's later operational decades. The DC-6 remained popular among smaller charter, cargo, and firefighting operators for decades after its passenger service career ended with major airlines, valued for its reliability and load capacity. As part of Finlantic's fleet, OH-DCA represented the type's continued utility in niche Nordic aviation markets, reflecting the broader pattern of piston-era aircraft finding extended service lives in specialized roles long after jets replaced them on mainline routes.
