McDonnell Douglas DC-8-21, registered N1976P, serial number 45435, flew for Overseas National Airways (ONA) as part of the American supplemental carrier's fleet of early DC-8 variants supporting charter passenger and cargo operations. ONA, founded in 1950, built its business around irregular and charter air carrier services regulated by the Civil Aeronautics Board, growing during the 1960s before financial pressures and industry deregulation eventually contributed to the airline's September 1978 closure. As part of this historic fleet, N1976P supported ONA's charter operations during the era of tightly regulated American commercial aviation.

Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".

Douglas DC-8-21

Designed to compete with the Boeing 707, the DC-8 was first flown on May 30th, 1958.
