McDonnell Douglas DC-8-55(CF), registered N852F, serial number 45856, flew for Overseas National Airways (ONA) as part of the American supplemental carrier's fleet of convertible passenger/freighter DC-8s supporting charter operations across the Atlantic and beyond. ONA built much of its business around military and civilian charter contracts, growing substantially during the 1960s before facing financial and regulatory pressures that eventually led to the airline's 1978 closure. As part of this historic fleet, N852F supported ONA's flexible charter operations during the golden age of American supplemental air carriers.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed to compete with the Boeing 707, the DC-8 was first flown on May 30th, 1958. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
