Boeing 720, registered 4X-ABA, flew for El Al Israel Airlines as part of the carrier's early jet fleet, with El Al adding 720s starting in 1962 to complement its 707s, achieving an all-Boeing 707/720 fleet by 1967. El Al operated remarkably efficiently during the 1960s with as few as seven aircraft total, relying on high utilization and strong maintenance practices. As part of this historic fleet, 4X-ABA supported El Al's early jet age network connecting Israel to Europe and beyond before the airline's 1971 introduction of the Boeing 747 enabled nonstop service to New York.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
