Czech Air Force Antonov An-26 2409 served as a tactical transport for personnel, cargo, and military equipment. Originally introduced during the Czechoslovak era, the An-26 remained an important component of Czech military airlift following the division of Czechoslovakia in 1993. Its rear loading ramp, rugged undercarriage, and ability to operate from relatively short airfields made it particularly useful for military logistics and support missions. Aircraft 2409 also participated in international flights and exercises, helping support Czech forces deployed abroad. The dependable Soviet designed transport remained in Czech service until the An-26 fleet was retired in 2011 and replaced by newer Airbus C-295M transports.
