Dragon's 1:72 scale Challenger 2 is constructed with an intelligent mix of diecast metal and plastic, with the entire hull and large low-profile turret in plastic for the highest possible detail. A discreet, internally-mounted weight gives the model its heft. The turret features an elevating cannon with muzzle reference sensor, smoke grenade launchers and a removable 7.62 machine gun with attached ammo box. The hull has upgraded armor side skirts, hand-painted headlights and fire extinguishers, separately-applied cabling on the sides and external fuel tanks mounted to the rear. The wheels feature simulated rubber tires and hexagonal shaped nuts and bolt ends, visible under close scrutiny.
