The Zeppelin in Goodyear colors was only a foretaste when it appeared in the skies in 2010. Soon after, the tire manufacturer Goodyear – boasting its own long tradition in airship manufacturing since the 1920s – ordered three Zeppelin NTs.
Designed as a commercial airship, the Zeppelin NT (Neue Technologie) was first flown in September 1997. The semi-rigid design differs considerably from the early Zeppelin rigid airships and the modern non-rigid blimps. By making extensive use of modern construction materials, the NT is very lightweight yet extremely strong. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
