USS Enterprise (CV-6), "The Big E," served with unparalleled distinction during World War II, becoming the most awarded and decorated ship of the war.
Please note: Unlike other releases in this series, this particular model ships in a plastic clamshell case only, without a cardboard outer box and without a Japanese language magazine.
The Yorktown class was a class of three aircraft carriers build shortly before World War II and commissioned into the US Navy between 1937 and 1941. They immediately followed Ranger, the first U.S. aircraft carrier built as such, and benefited in design from experience with Ranger and the earlier Lexington class, which were conversions into carriers of two battlecruisers. The three ships of this class are noted for bearing the brunt of the fighting in the early months of the Pacific War, most notably during the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Battle of Midway, and the Guadalcanal campaign. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
