On September 18th, 2013, the US Navy's second prototype X-47B (AV-2) completed the 100th flight of the Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstration program at Patuxent River Air Station. The Navy UCAS program successfully completed all objectives for the carrier demonstration phase with the X-47B in July, 2013. During three at-sea periods over eight months, the X-47B conducted a total of 16 precision approaches to the carrier flight deck, including five planned tests of X-47B wave-off functions, nine touch-and-go landings, two arrested landings and three catapult launches. The X-47B prototypes are expected to embark aircraft carriers again in 2014. The X-47Bs will also conduct the first-ever aerial refueling of a robotic aircraft in the with a planned aerial refueling demonstration in the fall of 2014.
